Panorama 1453 History Museum

The Dream of Sultan Mehmed mapping Show

On the morning of May 29, 1453, it is brought back to life through a digital interpretation. Sultan Mehmed's Dream, which will provide visitors with a three-dimensional museum experience, meets the visitors at Panorama 1453 History Museum with a contemporary interpretation.

As the world's first fully panoramic museum, the structure gains an immersive museum identity through the projection mapping show named "Sultan Mehmed's Dream," realized in collaboration between Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture Inc. and TUCE Investment.

Get ready to witness the most significant moments of the conquest!

Located near the Edirnekapi, Topkapi, and Silivrikapi walls where the most important moments of the conquest took place, the museum is built on a 38-meter diameter half-sphere right next to the gate where Sultan Mehmed entered the city. With its panoramic feature, the museum draws visitors in from all directions. Blending history and technology through mapping integration, the museum invites visitors to witness "Sultan Mehmed's Dream" in this area where the dream of the conquest was seen centuries ago.

An extraordinary experience begins with Sultan Mehmed's Dream.

The mapping show narrates the journey of Istanbul, the jewel of a geography that has hosted the ancient civilizations, from Constantinople to Istanbul, focusing on how the passion of Mehmed II, starting from his princely years, gradually turned into the reality of conquering Constantinople. It offers a visual feast.

Bringing the Conquest of Istanbul to the present with technology!

The approximately 10-minute show brings Istanbul's deep history, the post-conquest period, and the multi-faceted leadership personality of Fatih Sultan Mehmet to the present.

The show, prepared under the consultancy of Mesut Uyar, the Professor of International Relations and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences at Antalya Science University, draws attention not only with its visual richness but also with its meticulousness in shedding light on historical details.

Sultan Mehmed's Dream

On the morning of May 29, 1453, Constantinople, which 23 armies had failed to besiege in front of the Edirnekapi walls, is surrounded by the Ottoman army and on the verge of falling. The lights go out, and the words of Prophet Muhammad are heard: "Constantinople will surely be conquered. How beautiful the commander who conquers it, and how beautiful the army." The gradual realization of Sultan Mehmed's dream is revealed.

As the Bogazkesen is being built opposite the Anatolian Fortress, Constantinople, showcasing the richness of Orthodox culture, emerges behind the walls in all its splendor. The cannons, which changed the course of world war history, are fired, and Constantinople rejects surrender calls. And soon after, the city is besieged by an 80,000-strong Ottoman army led by Sultan Mehmed, who took an oath to capture Constantinople, and the historic conquest that would change the world begins.
